Terms

Pre-order terms for TidySteps. Effective , the date this version of the site was published.

The short version: you place a refundable deposit, we give you an estimated ship window and keep you posted if it moves, you pay the balance before anything ships, and you can have the deposit back in full at any time before shipment.

1. Who we are

TidySteps ("we", "us") operates this site at tidysteps.pages.dev and sells the TidySteps door unit, refills and pro pilots described on it. These terms apply to every pre-order placed here. Our contact details are shown at checkout.

2. Acceptance

By using this site or placing a deposit you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. The checkout page asks you to confirm this agreement before payment, and that confirmation is stored with your order record. You must be at least 18 to place a deposit.

3. What a pre-order is

A pre-order is a deposit on a unit that has not shipped yet. The deposit reserves your unit and is credited in full against the price when the balance is due. If the unit you would receive differs from the one described on this site in a way that matters, we tell you before the balance is due and you may cancel for a full refund.

4. Prices and deposits

Deposits, charged in USD when you place the order
ItemDepositWho it is for
Door unit pre-order deposit$29 USDHomeowners and short-term rental hosts
Refill reservation$24 USDOptional, added to a consumer deposit
Pro pilot deposit, five units$99 USDFleets, realtors and studios; one deposit holds 5 units, more packs at checkout

The door unit is $99 USD plus $14 USD shipping. The gift kit, one door unit plus 2 rolls, is $129 USD, and its shipping is shown on the balance notice. Refills are $24 USD a roll, $44 USD for two, and $22 USD a roll by the case for pro accounts. Shipping and any applicable sales tax appear as their own lines on the balance notice and are never folded into a price. The deposit is credited in full against the balance; a refill reservation is credited in full against your first refill order.

5. Deposits are refundable until shipment

You may cancel and receive your deposit back in full at any time before your unit ships. Ask through the contact details shown at checkout, or through your pre-order confirmation email, from the address you used at checkout. Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe, our payment processor. The full procedure is on the Refund Policy page, and the same policy is shown at checkout.

6. Estimated ship timing

Your estimated ship window is stated in your balance notice, before anything beyond the deposit is charged. Every window we state is one we have a reasonable basis to expect to meet. It is an estimate, and section 7 is what happens if it moves.

7. If shipment is delayed

If we learn that we cannot ship within the window we gave you, we email you before it ends with a revised ship date and a clear choice: keep the order with the new date, or cancel for a full and prompt refund. If the revised date is more than 30 days past the original window, or we cannot give a date at all, we treat your silence as a cancellation and refund you unless you expressly tell us to keep the order. Any later delay brings the same notice and the same choice.

8. Balance due before shipment

Before your unit ships we send a balance notice to your checkout email showing the full price, the deposit credited, shipping, any applicable tax and the amount due. Nothing ships until the balance is paid, and nothing is charged without notice. The notice states its own payment period. If you decide not to pay the balance, tell us and we refund the deposit in full; if we do not hear from you by the end of that period, we contact you again before treating the order as cancelled.

At balance time we ask for a shipping address, and a phone number only if the carrier requires one. We collect neither at deposit.

9. No subscriptions or auto-renewal

Nothing on this site enrolls you in a subscription, auto-renewal, auto-ship or recurring charge. A refill reservation is a one-time deposit on a one-time refill order, nothing more. If we ever offer a recurring refill plan it will be a separate product with its own terms, its own clear consent and a cancellation path in the same medium you signed up in.

10. Pro pilots

Fleets, realtors and studios place one deposit on a pilot of 5 units, and may add packs at checkout. Every term on this page applies to a pilot exactly as it does to a single unit, including the full refund before shipment. Promotion codes entered at checkout are applied by Stripe at the time of payment.

11. What the product is and is not

The TidySteps door unit is floor protection for the entry of a home, rental or workplace. Step on the plate, pull, and tear: a clear adhesive film covers the sole of any shoe or boot, and only the sole. It works on hardwood, tile, LVP and carpet, and each roll holds 187 pairs. It keeps what is outside off your floor. We make no claim beyond that, and nothing on this site should be read as a claim about any property of the product other than floor protection.

12. What you see before you pay

Before any payment is taken, the checkout page shows the seller's contact details, the refund policy and these terms, and asks for your agreement. Where California law requires a product warning, it appears at checkout and with the unit before shipment.

13. Our content

The text, images and layout of this site belong to TidySteps or its licensors. You may read and link to it. You may not copy, republish or create derivative works from it without written permission.

14. Acceptable use

Do not attempt unauthorized access, submit false orders, use someone else's payment method, or run automated tools against the site or the checkout route. We may cancel and refund any order that we reasonably believe breaks this section.

15. Disclaimers and limits

Until a unit ships, our only obligation is to hold your deposit, keep you informed under section 7 and refund it when these terms say so. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, and our total liability for anything arising from a pre-order is limited to the amount you paid us for it. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under the law where you live, including your right to a refund under section 7.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes are heard in the state or federal courts located in California. These terms contain no arbitration clause and no class action waiver.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date at the top. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in force when you placed the deposit, except that a change which makes the refund or delay rules more favorable to you applies to every open order.

18. Contact

Reach us through the contact details shown at checkout. If you have placed a pre-order, your confirmation email carries the same support contact, and a request sent there is handled the same way.
