How it works

Step, pull, tear. One motion at the door in about two seconds, no hands, no bending.

Pre-order

  1. A shoe pressing down on the plate of a TidySteps unit at the door, the clear film held open beneath it.
StepStand on the plate. The next cover is open and waiting.
  2. A foot lifting away from the TidySteps plate with clear film drawn tight across the sole.
PullLift your foot. The film wraps the sole and nothing else.
  3. A covered shoe stepping off the TidySteps unit onto a hardwood floor as the film separates at the tear edge.
TearTear at the edge. The unit sets the next cover as you walk in.

The mechanism

A roll of 187 pairs sits inside the base. Each cover is held open at the plate. Weight on the plate seats the cover, lifting the foot draws it over the sole, and a tear at the edge separates it while the next cover takes its place.

The film is clear adhesive film on the sole only: it wraps the bottom of the shoe and stops at the edge, so it fits any shoe or boot size. Nothing goes over the top of the shoe.

Reload: open the lid, drop in a new roll, feed the first cover to the plate.

Floors it works on

  • Hardwood, tile, LVP, carpet. The base stands on its own and attaches to nothing.
  • The adhesive faces the shoe. The floor only ever meets the clean side of the film.
  • The unit measures about 24 by 6 by 8 inches and sits beside a door without blocking it.

What it is not

It is floor protection. It keeps what is outside off your floor: dirt, water, grit, what the yard left on a sole. It is not a cleaning product, it does not treat shoes or floors, and it makes no claim of any kind beyond floor protection.
